And this is precisely the problem of everyday Japanese railroads, where customers accidentally drop their headphones while getting on and off the train, so someone finally decided to do something about it.

East Japan Railway Co., also known as JR East, claims that in Tokyo alone, between July and September, there were around 950 cases of dropping their headphones - that's reportedly a quarter of all items accidentally lost by passengers during that time. As reported by The Japan Times, railroad workers have a big problem with this and often after hours, after the last train has departed, they laboriously recover the losses from the tracks so that they can return to their owners. Extracting small devices from between gravel and stones in flight is usually not possible, although attempts with the "magic hand" type grippers are made, especially in the case of passengers who "care a lot".

However, these do not always turn out to be fruitful, due to the small size of the headphones and the limited capabilities of the aforementioned tools. And here comes Panasonic, which has taken up the challenge of developing a special vacuum cleaner that allows you to quickly recover your loss, of course without damaging it. The whole thing is said to resemble a cordless vacuum cleaner with a long pipe at the end, which sucks up dropped headphones and safely hands them over to passengers. What's more, the test device has already appeared at one of the stations and it looks like it close to movies catch on, because it is doing much better than a typical gripper - especially since similar problems are increasingly reported by railways from all over the country, so the demand is high. We are curious about the situation in our country, because Bluetooth headphones are a solution that is becoming more and more popular with us.

Now this vision is being realized before our eyes. NASA has just selected the supplier of the first commercial module.

More and more companies are created and join the private sector of the space industry. It's nice to look at, because nothing drives development as much as fierce competition. Another company that can do a lot of good to great space conquest plans is Axiom Space.

NASA announced that it chose this company to build the first commercial module, which will be able to accommodate space tourists with a wealthy wallet. For the agency itself and the US government, this is a very important issue, because the cost of maintaining a space house is increasing every year, and its value for state institutions is low. It is completely different from the point of view of private companies that conduct experiments important for their development there.

The head of Axiom Space is Mike Suffredini, who during ten years of work at NASA was responsible for the management of the International Space Station. But that's not all, he is supported by Kam Ghaffarian, CEO of SGT (Stinger Ghaffarian Technology), which is NASA's main contractor responsible for ISS service and astronaut training.

The company announced some time ago that it wants to build the first private space station in orbit! The plans of the company, which was founded just 4 years ago, may seem imaginary, but nothing could be further from the truth. The first commercial module of this company will fly into orbit for a good start, and then it will be time to implement larger plans.

Module 1 will be connected to Node 2 port. Dragon capsules from SpaceX and Orion from Boeing will be able to dock directly there. Axiom ensures that the module will have all the necessary life support systems, bedrooms, toilet, kitchen and space for experiments, enabling the normal existence of as many as seven astronauts. They will also be able to count on a bit of luxury. However, the most important aspect of life in orbit will be just admiring our planet from the perspective of space. For such views, it will be worth paying $ 45,000 a day of stay.

As a reminder, the completion of work on the ISS is expected between 2024 and 2028. When the International Space Station ceases to function, Module 1 will be disconnected from it and will become the first private and fully independent space station. This element of the new home for astronauts is scheduled to be launched into orbit in early 2021. The module itself measures 9 by 5 meters, so it will be one of the largest payloads ever launched into space. This happened in 1997 and NASA assures that nothing will change in this regard, astronauts will be able to vote in elections regardless of where they are in the solar system. However, as you can easily guess, certain procedures must be followed, which is why astronauts must first fill out some forms, just like soldiers on missions.

As most astronauts move to Houston for training, the majority choose to vote as Texas residents. Of course, if they want to vote as residents of their home state, that is also possible, but again requires special approval from their county. If these formalities are met, all that remains is to conduct a test vote - the county official responsible for the election sends a test ballot to NASA's team, which is filled in on a special space station training computer to check that the vote returns to the election commission without any problems.

After a positive result, the original encrypted electronic ballot paper is handed over to the astronaut, who also receives special data from the county clerk by e-mail to open and fill out the ballot paper. Then the completed card is collected and delivered to the committee by e-mail - there only one clerk with a special password can open it to officially register the vote. And while it doesn't sound like a quick and efficient process, it is, and in practice, astronauts only need to remember that they have the same voting time as all Texas residents, which is until 7pm on election day.

As we have already mentioned, this time only one person will use the opportunity to vote from the ISS, because she is currently the only American resident of the station, and we are talking about Kate Rubins, who went on the mission on October 14. Interestingly, however, she already has experience in this matter, because she already voted with the International Space Station during the 2016 elections. As she emphasizes, the process is not much different from home electronic voting, only that it is now in a ARTS WWW place.

And although the structures being the subject of the doctor's research have potentially many different applications, the author himself is very eager to point to the further development of mobile telephony and wireless communication:

- The flow of high-frequency audio signals through nanocrystals is of great importance for the further development of mobile telephony and wireless connectivity. The successor to 5G technology, which will be based on signal processing at frequencies around several hundred Gigahertz, will require further miniaturization or a completely new device architecture. In our publication, we propose a multiband acoustic filter which is a composite of a thin (50 nanometer thick) silicon nitride membrane and a two-dimensional network of self-organized nanoparticles. Such a structure is produced using a simple method from commercially available materials, he explains.

It is worth emphasizing that this is not the only field of activity of the Poznań scientist and his team, because they are also concerned with the topic of transforming heat into electricity. - Materials with the ability to convert electricity into a heat gradient (which is the case, for example, in camping refrigerators) or vice versa - heat into electricity - are called thermocouple materials. The possibility of generating electricity from heat can be very important, considering that almost all devices (such as computers or mobile phones) generate process heat and it is usually waste heat.

Currently, the most efficient thermoelectric modules are made of toxic materials and their storage after use is a big problem. We believe that non-toxic and easy-to-process silicon could be used to build thermoelectric modules, explains Graczykowski. As they said, they did, and the result of their work is a silicon heat diode, a device capable of transmitting more heat one way than the other. Interestingly, its construction allows integration with the electronics we use every day, and then using its unique properties for effective heat dissipation. Computers heat up less?

British scientists suggest that the levels of antibodies produced by the immune system in response to SARS-CoV-2 drop significantly a few months after infection, and there is no reason to disbelieve them, because for 3 months they tested hundreds of thousands of patients, namely 365,104 adults . Everything took place in three rounds, between June and September, to track changes in antibody levels. During the tests, SARS-CoV-2 antibodies were detected in over 17,000 people, 30% of which were asymptomatic.

As for the level of antibodies, there were drops from 6% to 4.4% between the first and last rounds, and they most affected asymptomatic or poorly symptomatic people, which may suggest that the more severe the course of Covid-19, the longer we can count to antibodies. - This very large study showed that the number of people with detectable antibodies declines over time. We don't know yet if this means a risk of reinfection with Covid-19, so it's crucial that everyone follow the recommendations to reduce that risk for themselves and others, explains Helen Ward, one of the study's authors.

However, it is worth emphasizing that such a situation can also be problematic when tracking how many people have been infected in total, e.g. in terms of herd immunity, because if the antibodies disappear, such cases will constantly lower the statistics. It should also not be forgotten that even a positive antibody test result does not mean that we are protected: - A positive test does not mean that we are immune to Covid-19. We still don't know what levels of antibodies provide immunity and how long immunity lasts, adds Paul Elliott, director of Imperial College London's antibody research program. On the other hand, falling antibody levels do not necessarily mean a loss of immunity, as this is the case in most infections, and the question is whether it will rise again as a result of repeated exposure to SARS-CoV-2 (still very rare cases). reinfection may suggest that this is the case). However, it seems that die-hard Internet Explorer supporters are not doing anything about it, so the Redmond giant is going to force them to switch the way - yes, the same kind as when promoting Windows 10, namely it will do it for them.

How? Namely, it will make some websites incompatible in Internet Explorer, so to use them, users will have to switch to Edge. According to BleepingComputer, the functionality of automatic browser replacement in this case is already tested on some users. It is part of Internet Explorer Browser Helper Object (BHO), which checks whether the pages the user is trying to visit (both via links and the address bar) are not on the list of incompatible with Internet Explorer. And if it seems to you that this is a short or insignificant list of pages, then you are very wrong because ...

... there are as many as 1,156 pages on it, including some of the most popular on the web, such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, ESPN or Yahoo Mail! So when someone tries to visit the indicated addresses from within Internet Explorer, the BHO will automatically open Edge instead, along with a window explaining why it happened. It will also ask for consent to transfer data from the old browser, i.e. favorites, passwords, search engines, open tabs, history, settings, cookies or homepage. The transfer is of course optional, but refusing to do so results in the continued display of the page by Edge. Clever, right? Definitely, but not everyone will appreciate it, as there are surely many reasons why users are still sitting on IE and only some of them get used to it. Finally, it is worth adding that we are still talking about a relatively small group of Internet users, because the total share of Microsoft browsers in this market is only 3.8%.
